Success in the Making

Floyd Dampier first got into roofing in 1955 as Dampier Roofing, specializing in shingle roofing installation and repair. Floyd’s son Frank started working as a roofer in the late 1950’s as a member of a hot tar mop crew. 10 years later, he started Frank’s Roofing out of his home on LaBelle Street in East Fort Myers and Floyd joined him in the business.

It was demanding work before the days of mechanized equipment to move heavy materials and lift heavy shingles and roofing materials to roofs. The business grew and expanded to Palm Avenue and later to Hanson Street, offering new types of roofing materials and expanding services.
